...set boundary conditions
To solve the differential equation of each regular cell, boundary conditions
have to be defined. They can be defined independently for both the input
and state grid. The user can select between a constant boundary value for
each boundary cell (Dirichlet boundary conditions) and periodic boundary
conditions, where 'periodic' means
a torus-like arrangement of the CNN cells:

The boundary cells of the input and output/state grid are half or quarter
the size of a normal cell and represent the values defined by the boundary
conditions. The default values of the input and state boundary cells
are -1.0 (white). To set boundary conditions for input and output/state
grid please follow the steps below:

Change to the size & boundary section using the simulator
menu :

On the right area of this section, enter the desired value for the
input or state boundary cells or choose periodic boundary conditions.

To accept the new settings, press the "apply" button.
